It does not take a degree in political science or an advanced knowledge of historic cultural trends to see that our nation is on downward spiral morally and socially. We are faced with daily political corruption and ineptitude on both sides of the aisle. We are also confronted with serious international threats that our leaders are struggling to address in a timely and capable manner. Our nation is in need of prayer. Our leaders are in need of prayer.
Given our current political climate it has become commonplace to simply identify with a particular party regardless of the issue or the position taken. Very little personal thought is put into much of our political process. This is a call to prayer for our nation and its leaders. It is not a call to prayer for or against a particular political party or movement. It is a desire to see the glory of God made manifest in our nation through our political process. This month you will be challenged to overcome your particular political bias and simply pray for the will of God and the pursuit of truth.
December 1- Pray for the sound conversion of any elected official that is not part of the Kingdom of God in Christ.
December 2- Pray for our president. Regardless of how you may feel about him, he is in office by God’s design.
December 3- Pray for the Supreme Court to faithfully uphold the Constitution that so uniquely defines our country.
December 4- Pray that both the liberal and conservative media would be less concerned with promoting political bias and more concerned with faithfully reporting the truth.
December 5- Praise God for the liberties that we do have in our country that currently permit us to worship with great freedom.
December 6- Pray for the decision makers of our country to be granted wisdom and discernment in the choices they must make.
December 7- Pray that our political leaders will recognize their own inadequacies and submit to the authority and leadership of God.
December 8- Pray for our nation’s leaders to respect the authority they have been given and to practice moral and ethical accountability.
December 9- Pray that the marriages and families of our leaders would be safe-guarded from scandal and strife.
December 10- Pray that God would give our boldness to stand for truth and pursue justice even when it is unwanted by the popular majority.
December 11- Pray that our leaders and lawmakers would seek to protect the sanctity of life.
December 12- Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead a revival in our country.

December 19-Pray for the spirit of adoption to consume the Bride of Christ that we might care for those that are without father and mother.

December 29- Pray for the public school systems and the overworked and underpaid teachers that educate many of the children in America.
December 30- Pray that the next generation of political leaders would turn to Christ for wisdom and guidance.
December 31- Praise God that we do not put our hope in governments established by men. We will not find ultimate reconciliation in a Republican or a Democrat president, a liberal or a conservative government, or any other political identification. Our ultimate reconciliation will come only through the true Sovereign King of creation.
