Faith Comes by Hearing
Faith is established through the hearing of the proclaimed Word of God.
It is our responsibility before God to the lost to actively take the Gospel to them that have not heard the good news of Christ.
The Gospel of truth stands in direct opposition to the false gospel that is proclaimed by the world.
The Gospel is the good news of regeneration through the finished work of Christ.
Merely hearing the Gospel is not sufficient, you must believe that which you have heard.
Having been sealed by the Holy Spirit is tremendous news for the believer because it promises four blessings: Security, Authenticity, Ownership, and Authority.
Although God’s word of promise is enough, He has given an abundance of assurance through the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit stands in earnest for us until the time we take possession of our eternal inheritance.
The Spirit not only guarantees our inheritance before God but He also bears witness to our position in the Kingdom of Heaven.
13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. (ESV)
